Renal and Radiology Healthcare Buildings, Cromer

In just 30 weeks ModuleCo designed and built two fast-track healthcare buildings for Cromer Hospital, a renal dialysis clinic and diagnostic imaging facility, providing the hospital with two stand-alone facilities.

  The requirement.
The nearest Radiology and Renal Unit was over an hour away and the hospital wanted to cut down on travelling time and inconvenience to its patients. The hospital received a generous donation from Mrs Bernstein, a local resident whose family member was cared for as a patient at the hospital. This provided the opportunity to obtain new equipment and expand the exisitng premises.

The solution.
Two healthcare buildings;
  • A 9 bed renal dialysis clinic for kidney dialysis with waiting room, reception, staff areas, clean and dirty utility, and plant room.
  • A radiology unit, which is the new home for the hospital's MRI scanner. It also includes an x-ray room with viewing and processing, an ultrasound unit, waiting areas, reception and plant room.

The radiology facility is located within a small courtyard and features a specialist pitched roof to compliment the existing architecture. The renal dialysis clinic is at the back of the hospital with its own access road and dedicated car park.

  The benefits.

ModuleCo’s off-site construction methods provide effective answers to the healthcare sector’s difficulties. With the need for high-quality healthcare facilities within a short period of time and with cost efficiency, we are the experts at providing fast-track healthcare buildings.

The result.
By bringing these healthcare buildings into the community, patients can now benefit from shorter driving times. Some patients were having to travel up to 3 times a week for treatment, so this facility has ensured their journey is now a lot easier and less stressful.

Joan Parker, patient at the new renal dialysis clinic said:
“I used to get driven to Norfolk Hospital 3 times a week for my treatment which took 45 minutes each time. Now I drive myself as it only takes 15 minutes. The facility is fantastic, it has a nicer more relaxed environment and is bigger than I thought.”
